About Us
Capgen was formed when the owners of a successful scanning bureau decided to leave the actual scanning to others and concentrate on helping clients to help themselves. As a bureau, The Capture Centre Ltd specialised in capturing high value, high quality documents on behalf of major clients such as the oil companies and newly privatised utility suppliers.
These documents described major assets of the companies and as such were themselves classified as assets. Established repeat business came from British Aerospace, BT, Shell, BP, Texaco, Rover, Lucas Aerospace, Powergen, Thames Water, Raytheon, Wessex Water, Zeneca Agrochemicals, and many others.
Since 1997 Capgen has been able to provide high-quality, experience-rich consultancy to both bureaus and corporations looking to embark on new document management and scanning projects or enhance and improve their operations with established ones.
During this time, Capgen have developed their own comprehensive and affordably priced document capture and document management suite (Capsure Enterprise) designed to meet and often exceed requirements found in the current industry.
Jacqueline Austin-Lavery is the managing and operations director, whose main focus is on providing the consultancy, training and project management supplied by Capgen. Having worked in the document capture market for over 20 years is able to provide that invaluable and unrivalled experience to clients.
Chris Austin is the technical director, whose main responsibility is the development and support of the software and technical solutions provided by Capgen. He has been in the document scanning arena for 10 years since attaining a BSc in Computer Science from University College London.
